We help students succeed — not just in school, but in life. With compassion, structure and nearly two decades of proven teaching experience behind every session.
Alisha WoodFounder & Lead Educator
Mentoring Young Minds was started by Alisha Wood, a passionate educator with nearly 15 years of classroom teaching experience and more than 18 years helping young people succeed as a tutor.
After years in schools, Alisha kept seeing the same pattern:
Kids with curious minds were quietly losing confidence before they even reached their teen years. She knew something needed to change. So she built it.
"I started Mentoring Young Minds because I've seen what happens when capable kids quietly start believing they're not good enough. I've taught long enough to know that confidence changes everything. When a child feels supported, understood and capable, their results follow. This business was built to make sure no student feels alone in their learning."
— Alisha Wood, FounderUnlike many tutoring services that only focus on homework or syllabus coverage, we take a whole-child approach, because grades alone don't tell the full story.
Tailored support in Maths, English, Science and all core subjects, aligned with the NSW and Australian curriculum and your child's individual goals.
Time management, organisation, effective revision and assessment readiness, because learning how to learn is just as important as the content itself.
Resilience, motivation and mindset coaching so your child feels capable and confident, in school and beyond the classroom.
We work with students with ADHD, dyslexia and learning differences by adapting how we teach to how they actually learn best. Not the other way around.
Every student gets an ILP: a personalised roadmap built around their unique needs, challenges and goals. No cookie-cutter approach, ever.
We keep parents in the loop, always. You'll know how your child is going, what we're working on, and how to support them between sessions.
